Main research interests

Mechanisms of action of small RNAs in eukaryotes. piRNA pathway. Suppression of transposable elements transcription. Regulation of gene expression. Mechanisms determining chromatine structure. Regulation of cell type-specific gene expression.
We determined and analyzed genomic binding sites of Piwi, HP1, Polycomb and lamin Dm0 proteins in different cell types of Drosophila (Ilyin et. al, 2017; Pindyurin et. al, 2018). We analyzed piRNA processing in flamKG/Df mutants and found the increasing non-specific piRNA production from the genic transcripts (Sokolova et. al, 2019).
